StudioWunderbar’s story started during Covid, when I brought home some forgotten treasures from my costume workshop. Among the scattered scarves, something magical happened — they started whispering about becoming something new.
The first piece that came to life? This simple kimono with its dreamy mix of browns, beiges, and blues — like an autumn garden painted in fabric, complete with delicate leaves and flowers dancing across the surface.
These preloved scarves have lived quite the life before becoming BeNice (mostly polyester, we think, though they’ve kept some secrets). You’ll notice gentle reminders of their previous adventures, and the fabric asks to be treated kindly — but trust us, you’ll make quite the entrance wearing this stunner.
We only made a handful of these original kimonos, and they’re available at special prices because they represent the very beginning of our journey. These pieces are final sale, making them even more special for whoever gives them their new home.
